Dr Swift’s experienced and professional support team includes :
Stephanie Pepper, Clinical Practice Manager, RN and Midwife
Stephanie has been with the practice nine years. She is a qualified RN and midwife, Gold Coast born and bred. Stephanie’s guiding passion is working with couples during their fertility and pregnancy journeys. A mum herself, Stephanie is inspired by the women and men she encounters and thirlled to be able to contribute to fulfilling their dreams to be parents.
“Each and every pregnancy is unique and for some, it’s a long, emotional journey. Working in health and especially fertility is never dull. I love the contact with our patients and seeing people light up when they’re told they are pregnant. It’s a pleasure to share their joy at the next stage in the natural progression of life.”
From a background in midwifery, Stephanie has experience in conducting antenatal classes and regularly attends professional development conferences several times a year to keep up to date on new techniques.
Stephanie is the pivotal point of client contact, from disseminating news and information, to organising appointment, forms and paperwork and testing, plus she is present during procedures.
“I am there every step of the way to relieve anxiety, hold patients’ hands if they wish and of course, provide information on all the terms and treatments that may arise.”
Coming to see me
Please ensure that you have a referral from your GP prior to making an appointment. This will enable us to ensure you are seeing the right specialist, and Medicare will also not process any rebate without a referral. It’s very important that you bring this referral to your appointment.
If your appointment is for infertility treatment, you will receive a higher rebate from Medicare if your partner is also on the referral and attends the consultation with you. More time is allocated to these appointments.
An initial consultation fee will be charged and you will be able to claim part of this back from Medicare.
Your full consultation fee is payable on the day of your appointment. We are happy to provide an estimate of this cost, simply contact the rooms and we will more than happy to answer all your questions. You will not be able to claim this consultation through your health fund (as only an inpatient in hospital can make such a claim).
The length of your appointment will entirely depend on your specific circumstances, but usually 30-40 minutes for gynaecological appointments and infertility couples can expect appointments lasting 60 minutes.
Follow up appointments are typically much shorter.
What to bring along
I encourage you to come fully prepared to your appointment with :
The referral from your GP.
Your Medicare and private health insurance information.
All relevant x-ray/scan reports and pathology results from your GP.
Completed forms covering your personal details and medical history (which can be downloaded here and completed prior to your appointment).
I will send a letter to your GP to update them on the outcome of your appointment so they will always have the latest information on your treatment and progress. Stephanie will be able to handle any clinical questions, or will refer them to me as appropriate.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the clinic at any time.
